Maltese Olympic Committee
The Games of the Small States of Europe is a biennial multi-sport event featuring athletes from nine European small states. The games are organised by the members of the European Olympic Committees (EOC).
The first games were held in 1985 and Malta hosted the 1993, 2003, and the 2023 editions of the games.
Concept Stadium was selected by the Maltese Olympic Committee as the official Creative Marketing Agency Partner to create a brand that is representative of these historical games but also identifiable amongst past brands of the games. The agency brief included support with Web UX/UI and communications services.
The Commercial Creatives, inspired by the agency’s strong values of sports, crafted a brand that merged the famous Olympic rings with a Maltese icon recognised by many; the eye symbol found on the famous “Gardjola”, as well as the colourful and iconic Maltese “Luzzu” boats.
In addition, the Concept Stadium team created a fun and lively mascot for the games, inspired by the local fish: “lampuka”, eventually named “Puka” and animated to do different sport movements representing the various sport disciplines.
A dynamic website was also designed which included information about the games, the participating states, the athlete contingents as well as fixtures and results. Other marketing material included newsletter content and design, as well as on-site Social Media support, advertising collateral, photography, animation, and audio-visual productions.
