The Jonathan Chetcuti Program makes a EUR16,000 donation to Hospice Malta

Funds were raised during a number of initiatives including the Camino de Santiago

The Jonathan Chetcuti Program, an initiative spearheaded by Elaine Bonello and Jonathan Dalli, has donated EUR16,000 to Hospice Malta, rounding up their 2023 fundraising efforts.

This includes a number of initiatives throughout the year including the Camino de Santiago Challenge successfully completed by Jonathan Dalli, Founder and CEO of The Concept Stadium, and his wife Charlene Dalli Mintoff. This was Jonathan’s second Camino and Charlene’s first. This challenging endeavour, themed #WalkWithMe, aimed to raise funds for Hospice Malta’s flagship project St. Michael Hospice; and fulfil a promise made by Jonathan during last year’s Bl-Imħabba Naslu telethon.

This comes following two donations made by The Concept Stadium and The Jonathan Chetcuti Program – a private charitable initiative striving to uplift communities in need through projects that enhance lives whilst honouring the legacy of the late Jonathan Chetcuti, Co-Founder of The Concept Stadium. These contributions further demonstrate the commitment to give back to the community and make a positive tangible impact on the lives of others.

This was the third major initiative of The Jonathan Chetcuti Programme.
In 2021, Elaine and Jonathan sponsored a young athlete, Richard Schultheis, following a selection by the Maltese Olympic Committee. In 2022, Jonathan Dalli completed the Camino de Santiago Challenge in May, having walked 130km from Sarria to Santiago de Compostela, raising an impressive €15,000 in support of The Jonathan Chetcuti Program. The funds were dedicated to building a Recreational Ground for a school in Ethiopia. This year, Jonathan and Charlene walked the Camino Portuguese, following the completion of the Camino Frances, walking 145km from Tui to Santiago de Compostela.

“The best pleasures in life come from doing more than what’s expected of you. While doing what is expected helps you keep your to-do list short, it’s not as fulfilling as positively affecting someone else,” said Elaine Bonello and Jonathan Dalli. “We will never forget the heartfelt support of Hospice Malta when we needed it, and that’s why we took took this literal extra step to show our gratitude. We’re also thrilled to have had a number of colleagues and friends supporting us along the way, including raising money for birthday initiatives and others to keep Jonathan’s memory alive!”

“The Concept Stadium and The Jonathan Chetcuti Program are very proud supporters of Hospice Malta and our mission to provide exceptional palliative care to the local community. Through their donations and ongoing initiatives, they keep inspiring other businesses and individuals to join them in sustaining Hospice’s important work and commitment to supporting those in need. We thank them wholeheartedly for their support”, said Bernardette Bonnici-Kind, Chairperson of Hospice Malta.
