Jean Claude Vancell
Senior Visual Designer
Campaign Creative Lead & Singer Songwriter
Jean is the creative mind behind some of the most recognisable visual identities in the Maltese Islands, with a specialist focus on Higher Education branding. He led the rebranding of L-Università ta’ Malta, setting a new standard for academic visual communication, and has shaped the brand narratives of several other high-profile institutions across Malta. He has also lectured in Graphic Design at the University, sharing his insights with the next generation of creatives.
A visual storyteller at heart, Jean fuses animation, brand identity, and multimedia to craft design work that is both emotive and strategic. His work is rooted in curiosity and a deep commitment to narrative-driven creativity which brings brands to life across digital and physical platforms.
Outside the studio, Jean is a co-founder of the Strummin’ Foundation, a youth-focused music initiative that blends education with social impact. Through concerts, workshops, and community projects, the foundation empowers young people to use music as a force for good. He is a two-time Best Songwriter award recipient at L-Għanja tal-Poplu, and the founder of Laqam, a typographic art platform that celebrates Maltese heritage through family nicknames.
Jean is also an accomplished guitarist, a fitness enthusiast, and a passionate photographer while always exploring new ways to merge his creative and personal pursuits.
