The National Book Council is a pivotal institution in Malta, dedicated to promoting literary culture and supporting the publishing industry, being committed to fostering collaboration with the community, partners, and industry stakeholders.

We provided solutions to National Book Council with

The organisation faced several challenges with its existing branding, with the need of a new brand to serve as a modern and impactful representation of its values and aspirations. The visual identity no longer reflected its mission and goals, and it needed to establish a stronger connection with its diverse audience, ranging from local communities to international stakeholders. Furthermore, inconsistencies in sub-branding and communication materials created a need for a unified and streamlined approach.

The Concept Stadium team crafted a fresh and modern logo that was designed to encapsulate the council’s mission and values, accompanied by a cohesive brand identity that positions it as a leader in the Maltese literary and publishing sectors. A sub-brand family was also developed to maintain consistency whilst allowing flexibility across different initiatives.

The new branding integrated principles of colour psychology, with a carefully chosen palette following testing of the proposed Brand identity concepts with targeted groups. This included a detailed brand guidelines to ensure uniform use of the logo, colours, and typography across all mediums, providing a clear framework for media, digital platforms, and print materials. The Commercial Creatives also engaged in a tagline consultancy to develop a statement that reflects the book council’s strategic positioning.

Devised in collaboration with Concept Stadium and their brand crafting team, the rebrand leads with the adoption of a brand new logo – a stylised representation of books stacked on each other, serving as an elegant reminder of what lies at the core of the NBC’s guiding principles
